Ever since I figured out my legs did more than just walking and running
I started dancing. Just naturally, feeling the beat flow through me. I didn't realize it then, but I was already trying to interpret music. Unfortunately, I never got the opportunity to train. I wasn't taken seriously. That didn't stop me from trying to imitate, or just do my own silly grooves. At least it got people laughing.
Then I moved to Vancouver, one of the major dance cities of Canada. I didn't discover that right away, not until I met Jerry and he showed me my resources. Now I can finally pursue it. The beat had never left. Every time the music pulse, I would get this amazing surge throughout my body. It's like someone sent an electrical circuit through me and I'd have to get it out of my system somehow. My body chose dance. Now it's also about technique, improvement, learning, inventing, and proving to others and especially myself that I got what it takes. I should've been taken seriously all along. Every time I think about how I'm on the right path now
shit just gets emotional. Nothing's ever made me this happy.
